Bananas are a healthy source of potassium, fiber, magnesium, vitamin B6, and vitamin C. When selecting bananas, choose a bunch with a slight green stem and tips — they should also be firm and without bruises. Bananas are best stored at room temperature on your countertop away from direct sunlight. If you wish to speed up the ripening process, try storing your bananas in a brown paper bag overnight. Once fully ripened, bananas will store in a sealed drawer in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. If the banana peel ripens to a mostly brown color, you can remove the peel and chop or mash the pulp to include in baked goods or freeze for smoothies.🍌
